2,500 miles walked - 60 miles west of Delta, UT

Route 50 joins with Route 6 and there is over 150 miles of empty highway between Delta, UT and Ely, NV. In an oddity, U.S. 6 enters and leaves Utah concurrent with U.S. Route 50. However, the two routes are different though the state. U.S route 6 also a transcontinetal highway, 3205 miles long, running northeast from Long Beach, CA, with its eastern terminus, at Provincetown, Mass. Route 6 is the only on of the classic cross-country highways to cross the Hudson, Mississippi, Missouri, and the Colorado Rivers. Find out more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._Route_6
A few years ago, LIFE magazine designated US 50 in Nevada as the "loneliest Road in America".
Well, in Utah, US50 doesn't do much better. Here is a song that seems appropriate on this lonely road: Long Lonesome Highway by Jim Hendricks A special "Thank You" to James R. Hendricks. Check his songs and interesting music history at: Maple Street Music.
