Vincennes, IN - 847 miles

George Rogers Clark National Historical Park picture 1The site of an extremely important battle that occurred during the Revolutionary War. Vincennes contains the largest memorial outside of Washington, D.C., a massive granite memorial that stands over 80 feet high on the Fort Sackville site. Inside the memorial is a bronze statue of George Rogers Clark and Clark's words carved into the limestone. The oldest city in Indiana, Vincennes began as a French fur trading outpost founded in 1732. Walked 4 miles yesterday (18th) and 5 miles today on trail.
