Kieffer Walks Across America - Via Virtual

On January 1, 2004, I began my virtual walk across America following U.S. Route 50 in my road atlas. I tranfered to this on-line journal in Jul 04. The trip started at Ocean City, Maryland, and ended in San Francisco, Dec 14th, 2009. (3,127) miles. Recorded in this weblog was miles walked, destinations reached, interesting links, and personal reflections. Stopped and restarted a few times, but enjoyed the trip - venturing along this transcontinental Main Street.

Walked 3 miles today. My left hip is causing me some problems. Will take tomorrow off. Noted while reading about walking, the avg. person takes about 2,000 steps per mile and since I am now 811 miles walked since Jan 1 or 1,622,000 steps taken since I started this "Walk Across America." - No wonder my hip is giving me a problem!
